chevy nova 2.0, se
The second chevy is done. I understand that there was, not just a little, obsessiveness involved in the production of this scarf. I didn't want to be a copycat, but I also wanted to produce a scarf that I liked. Kirsten used the same colorways to do her Chevron Mitts (which are ingenious, by the way, if you haven't seen them, go check them out).
I wanted all the brightness and all the color of the first chevy nova minus the pink, because--as you know-- I am just not into pink.
Clearly, I am not the only fan of this new iteration of the chevy.
Do you want the book model shot? You know you do.
He was such a fan, I just couldn't resist.
I love this new scarf and can't wait until chilly temperatures necessitate the need for a flashy good- time scarf.
Chevy Nova 2.0, SE
Pattern: Chevron Scarf in Last Minute Knitted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson
Yarn: Socks that Rock Mediumweight in Lemongrass and Farmhouse
Needles: US 5 straights
Modifications: Yarn substitution (which makes for a considerable heavier--read warmer--scarf) and I switched up the yarn pattern sequence for the first 4 and last 4 rows. I also ended at 65 inches of scarf and not the suggested 72 inches (or whenever you run out of yarn, there is plenty of yarn left...enough to make booties even).
I am sufficiently happy with this scarf. And since I am so happy with the end result, I don't feel the need to ever knit this scarf again. Not ever.

Little Sir is ridiculously cute as the book model.
Oh and the scarf is beautiful!!

Those colors are just brilliant together.
Your little guy is so freak'in cute! Love the scarf, love it, love it!

You sure have an eye for color! The scarf turned out great. 'Big Sir' looks smashing in it!!! I hope he doesn't tire of all the pics you will soon be taking of him with your new camera! You may soon have an offer from some knit magazine to do a photo shoot!!! Maybe a Debbie Bliss children's book. Woohoo!
Does the chevron scarf have an obvious wrong side? The one knit with the Koigu didn't which is nice. I always shy away from scarves with a wrong side for fear it may 'show'. Silly I guess.

Awesome job! Your son looks so cute modeling it :)

Well done! Little Sir makes a fantastic book model! It coordinates well with his Hawaiian shirt, too.

Little Sir is truly too cute! He makes a great model.
The scarf is beautiful. I generally don't enjoy knitting scarves but perhaps I'll have to reconsider.

The photos of Little Sir doing the book model shot have left me speechless. I hope you plan to print and frame one of them!!!
Oh, was there a scarf in this post? That looks good too! :)

Awesome! Both scarf and Nova-spawn are absolutely adorable.

Gorgeous.
When i first saw the colors i wasn't sure how they would go together (ya know, not having seen Kirsten's mitts and all). I really like the way the two colors work together.
Oh. I'm so not a pink girl either.
Coming from the "Chicagoland" area originally, i'd say you're all set! Have fun.

Oh, the scarf is great and all...but I gasped out loud at the absolute cuteness of Little Sir in his model shot. Too much

I know you didn't dye the yarn yourself, but I think "Kool Aid!" in the most happy of ways when I see this scarf. I'm with you; it's better w/o the pink.

Yes, this one is just right, Goldilocks. Little Sir is the perfect model, too. I must go check out the chevron mitts now! :)

Another beautiful Chevy, looking even prettier on the cute little model. He looks positively edible!

I was not opposed to the pink one, but am so glad you knit another version. It was so worth it for the pic of LS modeling it.
And the pic of you is pretty cute, too!

I absolutely love that color combo on your Chevron scarf! It looks fantastic. And Little Sir is the perfect model...I love that book-photo recreation!
Posted by:Whitney | May 17, 2007 at 12:56 PM
yes - when you get it PERFECT, there is no need to ever do it again and this one is perfect!
(the picture of Little Sir's dimpled hand holding the scarf is precious!)

Oh, you've found the perfect model -- for the perfect scarf!! It looks pretty good on you, too. ; ) Love it.

Hooray! I'm so glad you're happy with this one.
And I know what you mean about not knitting it ever again. I only knit one and I've had enough chevy stitch to last me a while.

This scarf combo is stunning! So vivid and bright--I love the colors. And love the model shot with your little guy. Classic.
