there will be pie
...and it will have a pecan pastry crust (which Little Sir should not touch as we have no idea about his susceptibility to nut allergies).
Yesterday's pie was a Truffle Pie with pecan pastry crust. The recipe is from some Mrs. Fields (yes, I know) cookbook. There are tons of good truffle pie recipes on the internets, I like the pecan crust for this one. It's a truffle on a pie crust. It's spectacular, well, if you like that sort of thing.
We happen to like this sort of thing very much.
Baking this pie was my reward for weaving in ends on the Tomten.
There are less than a hundred to go now. That's something, right?
But I can't keep my mind from wandering to new projects and hobbies (seriously, I am a champion amongst procrastinators)... And I really think I need to come up with some sort of solution for this:
I heart it. Mountain Mohair in Day Lily from Green Mountain Spinnery. Thoughts? Suggestions?
Okay, back to weaving in ends. If I get 5 done before tonight, I'll count it as a win.

That pie is just to die for! Pecan pastry crust? Yum!
As for the ideas? All I can see is hats. But then all I've been seeing, in whatever I do lately, is hats.

"If you like that sort of thing." Heh. Anyone daft enough NOT to like that sort of thing should be institutionalized.

The truffle pie looks yummy, but I can just eat that whip cream by itself!

Wow, that pie looks downright decadent! Yum.
I think that orange yarn would make fantastic mittens (Chevalier Mittens, maybe?).

ooh, truffle cake. it's a friend's birthday next wednesday and we're all going to his place to watch Project Runway, and he told me he wanted me to "make something chocolate." This is giving me ideas!

Ok. It must be said. Someday, I want to grow up to be just like you:) The pie-baking, the knitting, the sewing. It sounds like heaven. Why isn't grad school over yet?!?!

Oh delicious pie!
As a mom of one with a nut allergy - good thinking on keeping Little Sir away from them. Put it off as long as you can because nut allergies are a pain!

Yay, I'm glad you got started on the ends! That Green Mountain Spinnery yarn looks almost as yummy as your pie.

Ohhh I love Mountain Mohair! And I really love that color. I made the Big Sack sweater from Stitch n Bitch out of pistachio mountain mohair and I love it.
Well, if I'm being totally honest there are a few things I would have changed. It was my first adult sweater. I did it in the round using the EPS and just added the cable panel from S n B. If I did it over again I would have made it slightly smaller and added waist shaping to make it less sackish. But it is a fun pattern and works really well with the mountain mohair.
Whatever you choose I'm sure it will be great.

You know, now that I look at the photo again - I see only two skeins. My ridiculously large stash has made me assume you have five others hidden away :) So, now I'm thinking hats, yummy yummy hats. A friend made a great pumpkin hat for her son out of that same mountain mohair.
