I always think summer is going to be so relaxing and productive...which really, a normal person would pick one: relaxing or productive... I am pretty sure that most people would not try and squeeze both into a summer (or any container of time); but, most people are not me.
I don't usually intend to take long blog breaks. They just sort of happen because I am doing the living life thing. I do think about posting...I really do, I have the pictures to prove it; but, then, I just move on to the next thing that "must be done this very second" and forget about it. So I need to catch things up a bit here. Let's do that!
So a while ago, ahem...I had a contest. I picked some winners. I e-mailed them, I mailed some stuff. I still have to sew a boxbag for Hannah (I will get it done soon Hannah!). It was a good time.
I did some dyeing.
And then I decided that it would be fun to try the whole sewing clothes thing (it was on my New Year's goal list, afterall). I am still working out some kinks on this.
And I also: went to a conference and vacation (to California); took a class; did some canning; started two businesses (officially...you know with the state and all that).
I have been able to squeeze some reading in as well (of the non-professional variety...summer=YA-lit, for me anyways. I have no idea what others like to read during the summer).
In addition to all that, I have still been going to work (which has been a lot more relaxed during the summer...surprise archives deliveries notwithstanding).
And I still do the mom and wife thing, because, well, duh.
I have finished a ton of projects as well, so prepare for the parade...it's coming to town!
While it may not seem like my summer hasn't been relaxed at all...it kind of has been, actually. And it's been productive, too. I am so glad it's only half over!
I can't wait for the parade! The spinning is especially enticing to my eye. I'm glad you are enjoying your summer! What did you decide to make with your peaches?

Nova, I heart your philosophy of relaxing productivity, and I'm with you every step of the way. I'm proud that you are getting a little me-time between your work and mom/wife gig. Can't wait to see everything you've been working on!

There you are! Good luck with the parade. I need to find the balance between all I want to write, and just posting FOs. Glad you're having a good summer.

Your spinning is beautiful! I stumbled into Neil Shusterman's Everlost this summer. Worth the time. Looking forward to the next summer update.

Looking forward to seeing all you've accomplished. Here, a kitchen update has taken all my summer craft time and energy. I can't wait to get back to knitting and sewing.
