So here I am posting on a blog that I said I would never have... I am frequently wrong about things, I was wrong about the whole blog thing, let's move on.
Currently OTN is Hedera. I have finished a sock. Not a pair, just one. My little Hedera sock should have a mate at some point, as I understand it socks usually work best as a pair.
Although I have been knitting for 2 years now, my skills are rudimentary at best. I figure the only way to advance my skills is to attempt things that involve a little more than a bunch of knit stitches and a handful of purls. I have been hankering to try some lace and this sock seemed like a good introduction.
I won't go into great depth on the pattern as I would be covering ground well trod. I will say that I like the pattern, it's fairly easy to memorize and it produces a lovely sock, I think. Ultimately, it matters very little what I think. If the second sock is as good as the first, they (both of them!) will be gifted to a friend who lives in California--because everyone in California needs wool socks.
In addition to the Hedera socks I am working on a sweater for my son, who I will affectionately refer to as Little Sir here. It is my first sweater, it's showing some promise and I am starting to feel confident that I can knit things besides basic socks, baby booties and plain hats that noone really wants to wear. I am also making a vow to make more things for myself, because it really is okay to be selfish some of the time...
